Happy New Year - Welcome 2007

Happy New Year! May 2007 bring us all blessings of wonder, opportunity, and abundance.

How exciting! This post marks the beginning of a new year and the inaugural blog of Devi Arts.

Here you will find musings and meanderings, I will do my best to keep you keyed in to the vibe of all things Devi... Living life as art. This is also where you will hear first about new things happening with Devi Arts.

I am excited about the new T-shirts in the shopping section of www.deviarts.com. I plan to wear some of the long ones as it is winter, and give some to my husband and friends. I design for what I would like to wear or see on someone I love.

Guys, the larger designs will look cool on a broad chest peeking through an unzipped ski jacket. Girls, I created the smaller designs for a stealth glamour look, a graphic that is like a large dramatic broach. I wear a lot of black. I love to layer textures of black. I also love bold simple jewelry. I plan to rock the black T-shirt under an urban pea coat as I hit the streets of Los Angeles.

It's stealth glamor because in LA, you're never supposed to look like you are trying - even if you put a lot of thought (and time) into getting dressed. It is a zen conundrum that East coasters trip over for a while until they finally get on that wavelength and get it right.

So, the designs for Devi Arts fit right in with this. I want you to look cool whether you are a rugged type scaling rock walls, a surfer riding waves in Malibu, or a perversely chic character like myself who likes a clean urban chic that would carry me in any international city.

I'd like to think we could step off a plane onto the tarmac in any global airport and look 'chic', 'cool' and definitely stealth glamorous. Yeah! Whose that character in the sunglasses? It's a Devi Arts Deva (or Devo) to be sure.

You know what would be cool, I like to think you are a pretty stylish lot. Certainly you will be if one of your New Year's resolutions is 'Living Life As Art'. I'd love to see pictures of you in Devi Arts wear, rocking it in your own way, whether you are in Tokyo, Paris, LA, or the Midwest. Show us your global style. There's only one you. Let us at Devi Arts inspire you to light yourself a little brighter, a little more for 2007. Then you turn around and inspire us.
